On October 16, the launch and appreciation event for the BYD T4-91kWh, an all-electric light truck under the theme "Bigger battery, bigger payload, bigger ambitions", was held in Chongqing. The new 91 kWh version focuses on the core needs of urban distribution fleets: long range, strong payload capacity and high efficiency. Building on the strengths of the T4 series, it upgrades battery capacity and load capability, delivering a more efficient and reliable transport option for urban delivery, intercity haulage and short cross-city routes.
Bigger battery, long range for a new level of efficiency
Range anxiety and slow recharging are key factors holding back the operating efficiency of new-energy logistics vehicles. This T4 version is equipped with a 91 kWh Blade Battery, delivering more than 330 km on the CHTC cycle at a full 4.5-tonne payload, making urban delivery, city-suburb routes and short cross-city transport much easier. It also supports 2C fast charging, with SOC climbing from 30% to 80% in as little as 18 minutes, cutting waiting time and raising vehicle availability, while the bigger battery provides a solid foundation for efficient operations.
Bigger payload, hard-core capability unlocks new potential
For logistics operators, carrying more and moving faster directly means higher profitability. The BYD T4-91kWh gives the light truck a truck-grade chassis, with a 1.8-tonne front axle and a 3.5-tonne rear axle, accommodating a cargo box of up to 18.3 m³ to handle a wide variety of bulky and heavy loads. Combined with a high-efficiency motor with 150 kW peak power, it delivers strong starts under full load and confident climbing under heavy loads, making every trip more efficient and effortless.

At the event, 75 units of the BYD T4-91kWh were signed on site, further demonstrating the product’s market competitiveness and customer recognition. Chongqing’s rugged hills and undulating roads place high demands on power, load capacity and range. Thanks to reliable product quality and excellent adaptability to tough working conditions, the BYD T4 series continues to sell well in the local market, showing strong competitiveness.
