China’s mobility industry stands at a critical juncture of deepening new-energy transformation, fragmented scenario demands, and reconstructed value logic. On September 10, the 2026 SAIC Maxus Mobility Conference opened in Chengdu. As the first Chinese automaker to achieve full-energy mobility and full-scenario coverage, SAIC Maxus unveiled two flagship new products—the 2027 Maxus MIFA 9 premium business MPV and the Dana Super Range-Extended Business Edition—and officially launched the SAIC Mobility Ecosystem Alliance, formally announcing its strategic transformation from “automobile manufacturer” to “smart mobility service provider.” This move offers a replicable, full-scenario value benchmark for China’s mobility industry at its inflection point.

Full Energy, Full-Scenario Layout Addresses Core Industry Pain Points

Driven by deep insight into industry pain points, SAIC Maxus has taken the lead in completing a systematic strategy of full-energy and full-scenario coverage. On the energy front, SAIC Maxus is currently the first and only brand in the mobility industry to have commercialized both “super hybrid” and “super range-extended” technologies, forming a “one vehicle, six powertrains” portfolio covering gasoline, diesel, range extender, pure electric, gasoline super hybrid, and diesel super hybrid—the most complete energy lineup in the industry. On the product front, it has built four product series—light vans, MPVs, pickups, and RVs—comprising 22 operational models, precisely matching the differentiated needs of more than ten niche scenarios including tourism coach, scheduled route, rural transport, ride-hailing, and business mobility. Additionally, SAIC Maxus has introduced industry-first customized solutions such as “pet-friendly mobility routes,” barrier-free welfare vehicles, and cultural-tourism-themed sightseeing buses, achieving comprehensive coverage from generic models to scenario-specific solutions.

The 2027 Maxus MIFA 9 and the Dana Super Range-Extended Business Edition launched at this conference are SAIC Maxus’s heavyweight moves in two high-value tracks: premium executive mobility and premium business travel. They further complete the full-scenario product puzzle, enabling mobility operators of all business types and scales to find the right product solution.

Dual Core Product Refresh Precisely Matches Niche Scenario Demands

As the highlight of the conference, the 2027 Maxus MIFA 9 is positioned as “the expert’s choice, the people’s MPV,” emphasizing “exceptional value and exceeding expectations.” It directly addresses premium business mobility users’ core demands for luxury experience, operational cost, and charging and range confidence.

The new model features a comprehensive exterior and interior upgrade: a “star-pattern” front fascia paired with 20-inch star-inspired wheels; a Maillard brown interior with NAPPA leather zero-gravity seats; a triple-screen system, 12 JBL speakers, and 64-color ambient lighting. Details such as illuminated welcome steps, privacy sunshades, and foldable tray tables balance premium ceremony with business practicality.

In terms of space, thanks to its class-up body dimensions, it achieves the largest interior space, highest interior height, and widest second-row aisle in its class. It is equipped with an oversized yacht-style openable dual sunroof. The third row is the roomiest and most flexible in its class, truly delivering comfort equality for all occupants. Even with all seven seats occupied, the trunk can still accommodate three large suitcases (32-inch, 26-inch, and 20-inch simultaneously). It also features the only factory-original welfare vehicle in its class, fully meeting diverse mobility needs.

For powertrain and energy replenishment, it uses CATL cells with a CLTC range of 560 km and energy consumption of 17.1 kWh per 100 km. It is equipped with a newly upgraded heat-pump-assisted heating system that reduces winter heating energy consumption by 60% compared to traditional PTC heating, ensuring more reliable range in low-temperature conditions. Uniquely in its class, it supports 90-second rapid battery swapping, completely resolving the energy replenishment efficiency pain point of operational vehicles and significantly improving utilization.

In terms of safety, the MIFA 9 is the world’s first premium MPV to achieve both Euro NCAP and ANCAP five-star safety ratings. All trims come standard with seven airbags—the only model in its class to do so—providing comprehensive occupant protection. For active safety, it features a high-definition 360-degree panoramic camera and auto-dimming interior mirror, significantly reducing driving risk. For mobility-industry operational users, the battery warranty has been upgraded to 8 years / 600,000 km, comprehensively reducing operational risk and lifecycle costs.

Pricing was officially announced at the conference: the 2027 Maxus MIFA 9 starts at a market guidance price of RMB 289,900, with six launch gifts available for early orders and a limited-time promotional price starting at RMB 239,900. Meanwhile, Xiangdao Chuxing officially announced the selection of the 2027 MIFA 9 as its preferred six-seat business MPV, with the first batch of 100 units delivered simultaneously. The two parties will deepen cooperation by matching dedicated traffic entry points and high-quality order resources for the model, jointly launching exclusive vehicle training sessions and service standard certification, and working together to upgrade the quality of premium ride-hailing mobility.

The other heavyweight product, the Dana Super Range-Extended Business Edition, is positioned as “the industry’s only range-extended business large light van,” addressing the cost and range pain points of premium business travel. It is equipped with a CATL 50 kWh battery and a purpose-developed range-extender engine, offering a pure electric range of 312 km and a combined range of 1,260 km. Under WLTC conditions, combined fuel consumption is 2.65 L/100 km, with per-kilometer cost of approximately RMB 0.20—about one-third that of comparable ICE vehicles—balancing low-cost short-haul operation with anxiety-free long-distance range. The interior features a 9-seat spacious layout, overhead screen, in-car refrigerator, and aviation-grade power-adjustable seats. V2L external discharge is standard across the range. With inherent modification-friendly design, it can flexibly adapt to diverse customized business scenarios. Its class-up trunk space accommodates ten 20-inch suitcases, no compromises needed even when fully loaded.

Full-Lifecycle Ecosystem Upgrade Reshapes Industry Long-Term Value Standards

Beyond product matrix refresh, SAIC Maxus officially launched the SAIC Mobility Ecosystem Alliance at the conference, partnering with the China Tourism & Coach Shipping Association and leading enterprises across sectors to build a full-lifecycle mobility ecosystem covering energy, after-sales, finance, and capacity. This marks the brand’s strategic advancement from “building vehicles” to “building scenarios” and further to “smart mobility service provider.”

On the green energy front, in partnership with CATL and JieNeng ZhiDian, SAIC Maxus is building a full-chain energy guarantee system: batteries come with an 8-year / 600,000 km dedicated warranty; energy replenishment supports both 90-second rapid battery swapping and 30-minute DC fast charging. JieNeng ZhiDian’s charging-and-swapping ecosystem already covers 17 core cities with 200+ swap stations deployed, fully meeting operational replenishment needs.

On the after-sales front, eight dedicated operational services have been launched, building a nationwide integrated response network: 5-minute rapid response, 1-day repair of common faults, festival on-site support, 24-hour road assistance, and replacement vehicle or transportation subsidy for overdue repairs. Custom warranty plans are also available, extendable up to 10 years or 1 million km, covering the full vehicle lifecycle.

On the finance and capacity front, in partnership with SAIC Capital’s Dongzheng Finance, dedicated financing solutions are offered; in partnership with SAIC Insurance, full-lifecycle vehicle coverage is provided. Both lease and purchase models are supported, with customized discounted premiums, helping users optimize cash flow and operate lightly. Meanwhile, together with First Automotive Works Group, Xiangdao Chuxing, and GlobaleV, a quality operations network is being built, connecting high-value order channels and jointly promoting standardized industry service upgrades for mutual benefit.
