From September 25 to 26, the "Joining Hands, Striving Forward Together" activities of the Dongfeng Import & Export Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicle Overseas Business Division — the 2026 Southeast Asia Regional Working Meeting, the first vehicle roll-off of the localized plant, and a new product appreciation session — were held successively in Southeast Asia. Partner representatives from markets including Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Pakistan and China’s Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions gathered to jointly draw the blueprint for regional development and embark together on a new journey of localized development.
Regional Working Meeting Maps Out the Strategy
On September 25, the 2026 Southeast Asia Regional Working Meeting of the Dongfeng Import & Export Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicle Overseas Business Division was held. Since the start of this year, medium and heavy truck sales in the Southeast Asia region have achieved a year-on-year increase of 188%, with remarkable results in regional market expansion.

At the meeting, Yang Tao, Deputy General Manager of China Dongfeng Automobile Import & Export Co., Ltd., said that Southeast Asia market operations should take a long-term view. Dongfeng Import & Export will take sustained customer recognition, stable partner profitability and brand rooting as its core, working with partners to build a long-term, stable, win-win cooperation ecosystem. During the meeting, responsible persons from relevant departments of the Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicle Overseas Business Division gave thematic reports on Southeast Asia marketing strategy planning, main-sales product layout, marketing network operation management, after-sales policies and parts system construction.
At this working meeting, four awards — Sales Navigation Award, Operation Benchmark Award, Leap Breakthrough Award and Ingenious Service Award — were grandly presented, commending outstanding partners who achieved notable results in sales campaigns, channel building, market breakthroughs and after-sales services.
First Vehicle Rolls Off the Southeast Asia Localized Plant
On September 26, the roll-off ceremony for the first complete vehicle of the Southeast Asia localized plant was held, an important milestone in Dongfeng Import & Export’s overseas layout, marking a new stage of collaboration with Southeast Asian local partners.
The Southeast Asia localized plant is a key pivot of Dongfeng Import & Export’s globalization strategy and the core carrier for realizing localized manufacturing, improving delivery efficiency and strengthening regional supply chain assurance. After the plant enters production, localized production will be closer to end markets and customer needs, greatly shortening complete vehicle delivery cycles, reducing cross-border logistics costs, rapidly responding to diversified market demands, promoting all-round localization of technology, processes, management and talent, and forming a new cooperation pattern with local partners of shared manufacturing origins and shared development aspirations.
After the first vehicle roll-off ceremony, the new product appreciation session followed immediately. Multiple commercial vehicles tailored to Southeast Asia’s local working conditions and regulatory requirements made a collective appearance, covering diverse application scenarios including engineering operations, trunk logistics, new energy and special modification.
