Dongfeng Motor has recently rolled out its upgraded long-distance tractor model, the Dongfeng GX Pro, for the Russian market. The lineup covers 4×2, 6×4 and 6×2 drive configurations, with the 4×2 variant hitting the market first. As an enhanced iteration of the original Dongfeng GX tractor, the GX Pro incorporates multiple innovative upgrades designed to cut operational costs, boost driving comfort and achieve superior adaptability to Russia’s unique road and climatic conditions.

During the development of the GX Pro, Dongfeng’s R&D specialists fully analyzed real-world operational data collected from over 16,000 GX-series trucks operated by Russian transport fleets. Key improvements target fuel efficiency, anti-corrosion performance, low-temperature tolerance, cab amenities and electronic driver assistance systems.
Powertrain
The Dongfeng GX Pro is fitted with an all-new 13.5-liter Cummins Z14 diesel engine meeting Euro V emission standards, delivering a maximum output of 520 hp and peak torque of 2,500 N·m. Paired with an Eaton 12-speed automated transmission, the upgraded powertrain achieves lower fuel consumption and improved acceleration compared to the previous generation.
Cold-Resistance & Anti-Corrosion Optimizations

The upgraded tractor comes standard with a fuel preheater and higher-capacity AGM batteries. Low-temperature-resistant materials are adopted for electrical wiring and pneumatic components. Body panels undergo galvanization, multi-layer painting and cavity wax injection processes to reinforce rust protection.
Upgraded Spacious Cab
Notably, the GX Pro features a taller cab supported by four-point airbag suspension. The interior is equipped with the latest automatic climate control system, optimized sound insulation, keyless entry, one-button start/stop, a 30-liter refrigerator, privacy curtains, plus 12V and USB ports near the sleeper berth. All driving data is displayed on a digital instrument cluster and a 12.8-inch multimedia touchscreen.
Gear shifting is controlled via stalk levers mounted below the steering wheel. The vehicle also adopts electro-hydraulic power steering and electronic parking brakes.
Active Safety & Optional Equipment
Electronic assistance systems integrate a full suite of active safety functions: adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane keeping assist, tire pressure monitoring and hill start assist. Optional add-ons include a 360-degree surround-view camera, driver fatigue monitoring system, power take-off unit, Jost fifth wheel, aluminum alloy wheels and more customized configurations.

Special attention has been paid to the vehicle’s performance in frigid winters. Beyond the fuel preheater, the fuel filter and water-oil separator are equipped with heating elements, fuel lines are made of cold-resistant materials, and the pneumatic system features a heated water-oil separator to prevent condensed water from freezing. The standard exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system is enhanced with anti-carbon deposition protection, ideal for prolonged idling operations.
Warranty & Financial Services
The whole vehicle carries a basic 36-month warranty, the powertrain is covered for 48 months, and the engine block and crankshaft enjoy a 60-month warranty. Customers can also access leasing solutions via DF Finance.
Pre-orders for the new model are now open through Dongfeng’s Russian dealer network. Special launch offers apply to the 4×2 variant, including test drives and customized optional packages tailored to individual transport company requirements.
Dongfeng emphasizes that the GX Pro is engineered exclusively for long-haul and cross-border transport routes, balancing outstanding reliability, superior comfort and low total operating costs. Mass deliveries will commence within the coming weeks, while the 6×4 and 6×2 variants will arrive at dealerships sequentially in the third quarter.
