On May 14, 2026, Scania successfully held the Boundless Journeys, Reliable Deliveries Cross-border Road Transport Solutions Seminar in Shanghai. The company officially unveiled customized vehicles and full-value-chain service systems tailored for cross-border transportation scenarios.

David Källsäter, Managing Director of Scania Sales (China) Co., Ltd., and Gao Xi, Deputy Secretary-General of China Road Transport Association attended the event. Industry experts, media representatives and clients gathered to explore ways to elevate cross-border logistics efficiency.
Two core products were launched: Scania custom cross-border tractors and the brand-new Scania center-axle road train. A comprehensive service portfolio covering global after-sales support, digital data solutions, financial services and driver training was also showcased. Scania aims to tackle complex cross-border transport challenges with dependable vehicles and guaranteed services.
Addressing Industry Pain Points with Reliable Solutions
Global supply chains are undergoing profound restructuring, with efficiency and resilience becoming core priorities of cross-border logistics. Compared with domestic haulage, cross-border transportation faces tougher challenges. Long-distance non-stop travel demands extremely high vehicle reliability. Road conditions and climates vary sharply across regions. Network disruptions create blind spots in fleet management. Inconsistent after-sales standards hinder timely fault repairs. Meanwhile, drivers’ living conditions and safety on transnational routes also require adequate attention.
Scania has thoroughly identified these difficulties and delivered systematic customized products and services.
“In our role as a sustainable transport solution provider, we firmly believe stable delivery capacity wins more trust than short-term price competition, and continuous innovative services accompany clients through market cycles,” said David Källsäter in his speech.
Custom Cross-border Tractors: Scenario-oriented Design
Scania launched Super 460R 4×2 and Super 500R 4×2 cross-border customized tractors specially adapted for harsh cross-border operating conditions. Long-term stability and reliability under extreme cold environments were prioritized throughout product development.

- Extreme condition adaptability: Equipped with cabin thermal insulation, 210Ah AGM battery, differential lock, reinforced wind deflector and thermal insulation box to cope with low-temperature operations.
- Operational efficiency: Optimized saddle design paired with 315/60 R20 tires lowers saddle height to 1110mm, enabling larger cargo loading capacity.
- Driver well-being: Optional independent parking heater, large-capacity vehicle refrigerator, premium sleeper and extra cabin insulation ensure comfortable rides amid extreme weather.
Kuai Jun, Sales Director of Scania Sales (China), stated that every design balances profitability improvement and driver protection.
New Center-axle Road Train: Higher-efficiency Cross-border Transport

Scania also debuted its brand-new center-axle road train to enrich its cross-border product lineup. Built on Scania Super 460R 6×2 chassis and fitted with Kailu curtain-side cargo box and trailer assembly, it boasts a cargo volume of 123 cubic meters. The durable curtain-side structure and robust chassis enhance loading capacity and applicability, serving as an ideal option for cross-border haulage.
