Dongfeng Motor Commercial Vehicle Business Unit and Hubei Anjie Chudao Supply Chain Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “Anjie Chudao”) formally signed a cooperation agreement for the promotion and application of hydrogen fuel cell heavy-duty trucks.

The two parties will join hands with multiple leading enterprises in Hubei Province to promote the bulk sales and on-the-ground application of 1,500 Dongfeng hydrogen heavy-duty trucks.

Leaders and guests from Hubei Communications Investment Chutian Expressway, Hubei Anjie Chudao Supply Chain Co., Ltd., Hubei Anjie Logistics Co., Ltd., Dongfeng Motor Commercial Vehicle Business Unit, and Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Co., Ltd. attended and witnessed the signing ceremony.

Against the backdrop of global energy transition and the deep implementation of China’s “Dual Carbon” strategy, hydrogen energy, as a key direction of clean energy, has become a core breakthrough for the green upgrade of the commercial vehicle industry.

Adhering to the cooperation principle of “complementary advantages, resource sharing, mutual benefit and win-win results”, the two sides will jointly build a full-industry-chain ecosystem covering vehicle production, hydrogen supply, scenario-based operation, and financial support, further consolidating Dongfeng Motor’s leading edge in the hydrogen energy sector.

Anjie Chudao will take the lead in partnering with key provincial enterprises to procure a total of 1,500 hydrogen fuel cell trucks, including tractors, cargo trucks, dump trucks, mixer trucks and sprinklers.

Focusing on multi-scenario coordinated application, the two parties will build a full-chain ecosystem to promote the large-scale deployment of hydrogen heavy-duty trucks in trunk logistics, engineering construction, port transfer, urban sanitation and other scenarios, helping build Hubei into a demonstration benchmark for the hydrogen energy industry.

The first batch of 20 hydrogen heavy-duty trucks will be delivered by the end of May, with trial operation launched on key routes including the Wuhan-Yichang Expressway, Beijing-Hong Kong-Macau Expressway, Shanghai-Chengdu Expressway and urban roads in Wuhan. Subsequent bulk deliveries will be completed in phases within the year.

Tang Jing, Deputy General Manager of Dongfeng Motor Commercial Vehicle Business Unit, emphasized that Dongfeng Motor will conduct in-depth cooperation with the Hubei Provincial Government and partner with local hydrogen energy application enterprises to tackle technical bottlenecks in hydrogen energy application, break industrial development constraints, and contribute solid “manufacturing strength” to the implementation of the national hydrogen energy strategy in Hubei.

Ruan Yiheng, General Manager of Hubei Communications Investment Chutian Expressway, expressed strong support and affirmation for the cooperation, describing it as a powerful alliance between the manufacturing side and the application side, and a perfect complement of technological advantages and scenario advantages.

In terms of demonstration operation and ecological construction, Dongfeng Motor takes scenarios as the driver and commercial closed-loop as the goal, and has carried out demonstration applications in collaboration with central enterprises such as Sinopec and State Power Investment Corporation.

Its product lineup has formed a hydrogen power platform matrix ranging from 20kW to 400kW, ranking among the industry leaders.

To date, Dongfeng has sold more than 9,000 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, ranking first in the industry, with application scenarios covering more than 40 cities across China.

Dongfeng also pioneered the Wuhan-Chongqing-Chengdu hydrogen energy expressway demonstration operation, with cumulative demonstration mileage leading the industry.

Large-scale mass production will be achieved in 2027, making it a benchmark product for domestic hydrogen heavy-duty trucks.

This cooperation with Anjie Chudao fully reflects Dongfeng’s capability in scenario-based deployment, marking a shift from single-point trial to large-scale cooperation.

Relying on the hydrogen refueling station layout of “3 lines and 19 stations” and Dongfeng’s profound technological accumulation, the two parties will jointly create more hydrogen energy demonstration scenarios featuring the coordination of vehicles, roads, energy and services, enabling hydrogen vehicles to truly operate on Hubei’s expressways and bringing users greener mobility solutions empowered by technological progress. Together, they will build Hubei into a national demonstration hub for hydrogen transportation.

As Dongfeng Motor’s first strategic signing in the hydrogen energy field in 2026, this cooperation has fired the starting gun for Dongfeng to accelerate its leadership in the hydrogen energy race.

As a leader in the hydrogen energy industry chain, Dongfeng has taken a crucial step in driving Hubei’s hydrogen energy industrial ecosystem from technical verification to an industrial highland through the clustering of upstream and downstream resources and large-scale real-scenario deployment.

It injects strong “Dongfeng momentum” into Hubei’s goal of building a national hub for hydrogen energy industry development.
